Candlewolfe Sound is the audio service I provide for select musical artists. I have been experimenting with recording since the age of 14. In 2010, I graduated from SAE Institute of Technology New York where I studied audio engineering and music production. I have assisted as an engineer in multiple recording studios from Pennsylvania to Portland, and have acted occasionally as a live sound engineer.
Over the years, I have obtained technical knowledge and gained hands-on experience in this field, and having recorded and produced a variety of bands and musicians, I am shifting my focus more specifically towards mixing. There is something about immersing myself into the layers of carefully crafted compositions of others and the delicate yet often challenging process of mixing an entire record. It's rewarding to have helped bring a great project toward its final form.
I say my approach to working with music and audio is very intuitive. I like to experiment with different techniques to achieve unique results such as re-amping, live effects processing, tape manipulation, and more. This can often transform my role into a more collaborative one. My belief is there is no "incorrect" way to do a thing if the result is a desirable marriage of frequencies and it feels right. I trust my ears and follow a feeling.
If you want an engineer that puts the rules first and creativity second, then I may not be the one for you. If you want someone who will dive into your world of music, familiarize it, and bring out the best qualities while exceeding expectations in sound and originality, then we should talk about mixing your next record.
I keep my rates reasonable, and consider the realistic amount of work to be done, as well as your budget.
I am also open to giving lessons on Pro Tools and mixing basics/techniques.
